In junior high I first ran into a computer - teletype terminals into a mainframe and all that. The equipment was archaic even then - I mean, paper tape! Somehow a game I coded then was ported to a TRS-80 and lives on the web somewhere (image at right).

Then the home computers appeared - and I glommed onto it, starting with quasi homebrews like Ohio Scientific, then moving to the consumer models like the Commodore Vic-20, Apple II, and Atari 800.

They were fun to code for, it was all either Basic or 6502 Assembly language (all share the Mostek 6502 processor).

I had articles published in the hobbyist magazines of the time, as well as some software sold through some of the garage software outfits.
